Importance of Email Marketing

Many people consider email marketing to be spam. However, that’s far from the truth. While some companies use email for spamming purposes, email marketing can have a very large impact on a business that uses it correctly. I had an opportunity to be a guest on ‘Digital Life with Shelly Palmer’ and shared a few email tips.

Email marketing and digital media:

Compared to Facebook and Twitter, email marketing is old. However, that doesn’t mean it’s not relevant. Email marketing is an essential tool that could be used in a number of different ways. Take a look at paidContent.org and GigaOM.com. Both of these are prominent blogs and use email marketing to share their content. While they do use their lists for promotional purposes (on rare occasion), their first priority is to deliver good content.

If you’ve ruled out email marketing just because it was introduced a decade prior to social networking, reconsider it’s importance. It can go a long way in building a community.
