NBC iPad App

by Aanarav Sareen on April 5, 2010

I’ve spent quite a few hours this weekend exploring the iPad. It’s hard to define the feeling, except I think that it’ll have a significant impact on how we consume media in the near future. I also believe that this will be one of the fastest new products to sell 1 million units.

Over the weekend I realized that NBC was one of 2 broadcast networks that did not have an iPad app. The other one being FOX. Given that a majority of what I watch is on NBC, I decided to create a simple mockup of a video-player app for NBC shows.

  • Image rotator on the top with recent episode visuals. One rotator can be an ad.
  • Bottom part of the home screen highlights 6 shows. Shows can be swapped with ads.
  • RSS feeds from MSNBC.com, NBCSports.com and a link to NBCQuick.com

NBC iPad App

  • Top-banner for show. Can contain sponsor messages.
  • Large middle graphic that rotates between 3 recent episodes.
  • 3 additional episodes promoted below. Clicking on an episode takes you to a fullscreen video.
